Adult Education Aide/Tester, Waller Co. (PART-TIME)
Job Goal: Assist the Adult Education Specialists and Instructors. Administer the state approved assessments for initial enrollment and progress of adult education students. Gather and complete documentation related to monthly reporting procedures if applicable. Interview and advise students regarding information, procedures, and academic requirements specific to the Integrated Basic Skills and Workforce Training Programs. Provide follow-up and support to AEL students.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Certified in State Mandated Adult Education Assessments related to job duties
• Experience working with undereducated adults preferred
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimum supervision
• Proficient computer skills
• Knowledge of curriculum, assessments and software related to Adult Education.
• Strong organizational skills
• Possess a positive attitude and work ethic, demonstrate responsibility and dependability, employ acceptable listening, researching and timely response techniques to clients and co workers
• Knowledge of current state mandated assessments and objectives related to Adult Education
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Administer required initial and progress assessments
• Maintain all materials and records related to classroom assessment
s• Ability to read and interpret TEAMS data
• Attend mandatory staff development related to job duties
• Participate in the recruitment, retention and follow up of students
• Perform other duties as assigned
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
• $15 PER HOUR
EQUIPMENT USED
• Standard office equipment, including personal computer and peripherals.
WORKING CONDITIONS
• Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.
• Motion: Repetitive hand motions, including frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching.
• Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds).
• Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours.• Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
