SAFETY EDUCATION & TRAINING SPECIALIST
Job Goal: To support the ESC mission in implementation of Safety Education and Training programs. Assisting with providing region-wide programs that educate students, bus drivers, teachers, and administers in areas of school safety, transportation and traffic safety.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)• Texas School Safety and Security Registered Consultant
• Multi-Hazard Emergency Operations Plan (EOP) Registered Consultant

• Ability to establish rapport and collaborate effectively with public school and ESC personnel

Major Responsibilities or Duties
• Follow all ESC Region 6 accounting procedures, operational guidelines, board policies, and personnel procedures
• Assist in managing Safety Education & Training Department programs, including grant writing, implementation, and reporting
• Collaborate with the Texas School Safety Center and other agencies to support district-level safety practices
• Support School Safety and Security Audits and recommend best practice implementations
• Serve as a liaison for LEAs and TEA regarding school safety programs, funding, legislative requirements, and best practices
• Maintain communication with assigned grant managers regarding documentation, reporting, and site monitoring
• Develop and distribute marketing materials such as flyers, posters, letters, brochures, and other promotional items
• Schedule and deliver presentations aligned with program objectives
• Assist the Component Director with the Intruder Detection Audit process and related implementation
• Conduct Intruder Detection Audits on assigned campuses
• Promote all Safety Education & Training programs to districts and stakeholders
• Coordinate LEA audit services and delivery
• Lead the planning and execution of school safety conferences, roundtables, and related events
• Assist in analyzing and planning internal safety and security for ESC Region 6
• Keep the supervisor informed of district needs and developments
• Perform other duties as assigned
