STRONG FOUNDATIONS INSTRUCTIONAL SPECIALIST

Purpose:
Physical Demands/Environmental Factors/ Mental Demands: Frequent use of standard office equipment; prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting; repetitive hand motions (keyboarding and use of mouse); occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 20 pounds); may work prolonged and irregular hours; occasional statewide travel; work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under pressure.

Salary: $55,066 to $86,986 per year contingent with experience
- Strong Foundations Instructional Specialists will train and coach R6 LEAs through the implementation of the Texas Education Agency Strong Foundations grant and associated products
- Current Texas State Teaching Certification (required)
- Master's Degree (required)
- Extensive knowledge of current research regarding effective practices in curriculum and instruction
- Extensive knowledge of assessment practices and ways to use data to inform instruction and staff learning
- The ability to establish measurable outcomes and backwards-plan toward the
- Successful implementation of a work plan
- A demonstrated ability to produce, host, and deliver best-in-class professional development and implementations support utilizing various multimedia formats
- The ability to juggle multiple ongoing priorities
- Three or more years supporting administrators and teachers
- Five or more years of classroom teaching experience
- Experience developing and delivering professional learning
- Instructional Coaching experience (highly preferred)
- Support districts in the implementation of instructional resources for Tier 1 instruction in area of responsibility
- Develop, present, and facilitate effective professional development
- Provide technical assistance and customized services
- Provide support and expertise in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating professional development, services, and products in the area(s) of responsibility
- Assist with planning and implementation of ongoing needs assessment and services for Region 6 customer districts
- Assist in planning and developing special project activities, e.g., grant proposals, interdepartmental services, demonstration sites, research studies, and other customer-based projects
- Engage in professional development to maintain knowledge and skills in area(s) of responsibility
- Participate in state-level functions related to area(s) of responsibility
- Provide technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable federal grant that funds this position
- Specific Responsibilities and Duties for Strong Foundations Instructional Specialists:
- Support districts in the implementation of Strong Foundations instructional materials in the area of responsibility.
- Attend and actively participate in all required TEA trainings and meetings to support the implementation of the Strong Foundations grant for participating LEAs
- Complete all RBIS and Product Academy sessions and obtain certification
- Adhere to all guidelines, deliverables, and timelines as outlined in the Strong Foundations grant
- Monitor and track the progress of LEAs in implementing the Strong Foundations grant deliverables
