ADULT EDUCATION SPECIALIST
Job Goal:- To provide
administrative support and technical assistance to teachers and aides involved
in the Direct Service Adult Education Program. Serve as the Lead for TEAMS,
Data Entry, Enrollment and Quality Assurance for the Direct Service program
within GCWB (GULF COAST WORKFORCE BOARD). Assist the Adult Education Department
with meeting program objectives and local initiatives.
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in education or related field

CERTIFICATIONS:
- Certified in Adult Education Assessments specific to programs
- Certified or trained in professional development/certifications specific to AEL
- High level of expertise in computer skills
- Ability
to prioritize workload to most efficiently complete the required work in a timely
manner
Presentation skills; ability to provide professional development to identified population Demonstrate an in-depth knowledge of area specific software - Ability to work on multiple tasks with minimal supervision
- Ability to use technology effectively
- Current knowledge of ABE, ASE, and ESL curriculum materials
- Knowledge of Adult Education State and Federal objectives and initiatives
- Knowledge of the impact student/teacher performance has on the Program Performance Objectives Current knowledge of ABE/ASE/ESL program requirements
- Willingness and ability to gain and maintain any required competencies
- Current knowledge of TWC programs and community resources
- Ability to establish rapport and work in collaborations with other staff in the Adult Education Department Current knowledge of professional development training/certifications specific to AEL
- Current knowledge of all aspects of direct service specific to AEL in the GCWB area
- Monitor and manage classes and staff within the Direct service program of Adult Education within the GCWB AEL Consortium
- Implement and facilitate staff training as needed to assign staff
- Review TEAMS data and align it with staff development and Technical Assistance for the direct service program
- Assist in maintaining records required by ESC, TEA, GCWB and TWC
- Write announcements, newsletters, and advertising materials; prepare letters, posters, leaflets, and other recruitment materials for submission to local media and general distribution to adult population. (All written materials to be approved by program director prior to distribution)
- Manage TEAMS processes and documentation Assist with ESC, 6 Adult Education program activities and personnel as assigned
- Perform other duties as assigned
- AEL programs within the GCWB AEL Consortium
