Job Goal
Provide
prompt and accurate support to schools in Region 6 ESC, regarding the use of
the ASCENDER Business applications, including technical and school payroll-related
issues.

Education
- A college degree is preferred around the area of Accounting, Finance, Business, or Management Information Systems preferred.
- High School Diploma required
Special Knowledge & Skills
- Familiarity with school or government accounting procedures.
- Knowledge of TEA Financial Accounting Resource Guide and any local, state, and federal reporting requirements
- Perform assignments without continuous supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain a rapport with schools and Region 6 ESC personnel.
- Capable of working closely, and completing tasks, with co-workers.
- Ability to collaborate with schools and Region 6 ESC personnel.
- Ability to work with all facets of data processing
- Excellent organization, communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Possesses a positive attitude and work ethic
- Employs acceptable listening, researching, and timely response techniques to clients and co-workers
- Demonstrates the ability to perform the assigned responsibilities
Experience
- Experience using accounting software
- Experience analyzing and resolving problems with school finance/human resources.
- Experience meeting deadlines and completing tasks under pressure.
- Two years of school finance experience preferred.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
- Assist in the formulation and delivery of business support services to schools.
- Provide support in the areas of School Finance and local, state, and federal reporting.
- Assists schools with state and federal reporting, as well as TEA mandates, TRS procedures and IRS laws
- Perform tasks such as payroll processing on behalf of schools
- Compose training material and conduct training/workshops
- Analyzing computer and software related issues
- Maintain a professional level of confidentiality regarding Region 6 ESC matters
- Perform other duties as assigned

- Standard office equipment, including personal computers and peripherals.

- Multi-task with frequent interruptions and with minimal supervision
- Maintain emotional control under stress
- Prolonged and irregular work hours on occasion
