Teacher Incentive Allotment Specialist



Job Goal: Support the regional efforts to increase participation in the TIA program and lead a team of exceptionally talented professionals who will be supporting the TIA work. This individual must be an advocate for the TIA system and be able to articulate the components and the benefits of the program to regional superintendents and lead the work in all stages of development and implementation.

Qualifications:
  • Master's degree required
  • Texas Teacher Certification required
  • Texas Principal Certification required
  • Texas Superintendent Certification preferred
Special Knowledge & Skills
  • Successful Principal and/or Superintendent experience required 
  • Recognized by peers as a competent and successful educator  
  • Exemplary communication, collaboration, and leadership skills  
  • A minimum of 3 years of Central Office or campus leadership experience 
  • Knowledge and experience with Human Capital and Talent Systems, Finance, and Teacher Incentive Allotment (preferred) 
  • Knowledge and experience with data collection and disaggregation (preferred)  
  • A drive to be of service to others by establishing bonds with clients and providing accurate information  
  • Act with a purpose that impacts and positively influences the perceptions, thinking, and actions of others  
  • Assume leadership of a group for the benefit of the organization  
  • Develop others through coaching, modeling, and providing feedback on performance
  • Travel within the state. 
Major Responsibilities:
  • Experience with Teacher Incentive Allotment at district or campus leadership level required  
  • Provide professional development and coaching for TIA districts in all stages of implementation  
  • Prioritize support and services for LEAs defined as rural per NCES or TEA Reporting Categories  
  • Responsible for increasing TIA participation and eligibility rates in their region  Meet all region-specific targets as approved by TEA 
  • Maintain strong working relationships with District Leadership  
  • Provide documentation of grant fund usage through semi-annual report submission
  • Complete all necessary benchmarks, tasks, and requirements
  • Collaborate and communicate with TEA as requested  
  • Leverage ESC capacity around talent or strategic leadership to support work 
  • Schedule and host annual TIA Performance Review that will include a review of status of TIA and Talent initiatives in the region, a relevant school visit, and a discussion of opportunities for improvement
Terms of Employment: Commensurate with experience

Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including personal computer and peripherals

Working Conditions: 
  • Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting.  
  • Motion: Repetitive hand motions, including frequent keyboarding and use of a mouse; occasional reaching. 
  • Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds). 
  • Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours.  
  • Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under stress.
