Description

North Zulch ISD is seeking a highly motivated and student-centered Head Baseball Coach who will lead, develop, and grow our baseball program while serving as a classroom teacher in a core academic area (English or other core subjects based on certification). As a small 1A district, this position requires a coach who values relationships, embraces multi-sport athletes, collaborates with staff, and contributes to a strong, family-oriented school culture. Primary ResponsibilitiesAthletics (Head Baseball)

• Serve as Head Coach for the North Zulch ISD baseball program (grades 7–12 as applicable)
• Develop and implement a comprehensive baseball program aligned with district expectations and UIL guidelines
• Teach fundamental skills, sportsmanship, and character development
• Organize and lead practices, games, offseason programs, and strength/conditioning (as appropriate)
• Coordinate scheduling, equipment, and program needs
• Promote a positive culture that reflects pride, accountability, and teamwork
• Encourage and support multi-program participation
• Build strong relationships with athletes, parents, and the community
• Ensure compliance with all UIL, district, and campus policies

Teaching (Core Subject – English or Other)

• Provide high-quality instruction aligned to Texas standards
• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that support student learning and growth
• Monitor student progress and adjust instruction to meet individual needs
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and student performance
• Collaborate with colleagues to support campus and district goals
• Foster a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment

Additional Duties

• Assist with other athletic programs, as needed
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events
• Support district initiatives aligned to the North Zulch ISD Systems Plan
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or Athletic Director

Qualifications

• Valid Texas Teaching Certificate (or ability to obtain)
• Coaching experience preferred, especially in baseball
• Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals and program development
• Valid Bus Driver CDL or willing to get one
• Ability to work in a small school environment with shared responsibilities
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills
• Commitment to building relationships with students, staff, and community
