Maintenance/Mechanic
Job Title: Maintenance/Mechanic
Reports to: Maintenance Director
Primary Purpose: Perform a variety of maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance duties to ensure district facilities, vehicles, equipment, and grounds remain safe, functional, and well-maintained. Diagnose, repair, and maintain district vehicles, buses (as assigned), lawn equipment, and maintenance equipment while assisting with general maintenance projects throughout the district.

Qualifications:
Education/Certification
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas driver's license
- CDL with School Bus endorsement preferred or ability to obtain
- Experience in automotive, diesel, small engine, or general maintenance preferred.
- Knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and welding is beneficial.
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on district vehicles, maintenance equipment, and small engines.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical problems.
- Assist with maintenance of district buildings, grounds, and equipment.
- Complete basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and HVAC repairs.
- Maintain district grounds and assist with mowing and landscaping as needed.
- Respond to maintenance work orders in a timely manner.
- Operate and maintain maintenance tools and equipment safely.
- Assist with furniture moves, campus events, and summer maintenance projects.
- Follow district safety procedures and report unsafe conditions.
- Maintain positive working relationships with district staff and vendors.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Maintenance Director.
Mental Demands
- Ability to organize work, solve problems, and work independently.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, lifting, and carrying up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
