Assistant Principal



Job Title: Assistant Principal
Reports To: Campus Principal

Primary Purpose
Assist the campus principal in providing instructional leadership and campus management to ensure high standards of instructional service. Promote a positive educational environment that supports student achievement, staff development, and effective school operations in alignment with district goals and state requirements. 

Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas Mid-Management, Principal, or other appropriate administrative certification
  • Valid Texas teaching certificate

Experience
  • Minimum of three years successful classroom teaching experience
  • Campus leadership experience preferred  

Responsibilities
  • Support teachers and instructional programs
  • Help maintain a safe and positive campus climate
  • Use student data to support academic achievement
  • Assist with staff supervision and professional development
  • Support daily campus operations and school activities
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members

Skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instructional practices
  • Ability to organize, problem-solve, and work collaboratively

Working Conditions
  • Frequent walking and standing
  • Occasional evening or after-hours responsibilities
  • Fast-paced school environment with multiple priorities

Evaluation
Performance will be evaluated annually according to district policy.
